The play and boycotting the freshers
Ladies and gentlemen.. on your left.. You can see what we might term as the "before" pic. And on your right is what one can term as the "after" pic.
So we did enact the play. And we did screw it up. But the people didn't realise it! 2 of us actually screwed up the dialogues and we somehow managed to cover it up. Finally I guess we put up quite a decent performance, contrary to what the cmdrbuzz and others might think. If anyone can come up with something better than this in 18 days with T3 in the cast, then I'm game for it :D :P
All the anger that you guys have on the faculty is being focussed on the juniors. Of course there are spoilt brats in the 2k6 batch just like your batch and our batch had. That doesnt mean that you go ahead and show your contempt for the batch by boycotting the event and isolating the facchas from all sports. It is just a cowardly act.. an act of personal vengeance.. I dont know who is/are pulling the strings.. I dont know how it is going to help their cause.. But one thing I know is that the faculty wont give a damn. And that this might very well be the most immature, irresponsible thing one might end up doing. Was it their(2k6 people) fault that the 3 people got sent to mussoorie? No. As much as you'd like it to be. That decision was taken by director and co. So instead of venting your anger, garner your guts and stand up against the director. And to get the whole batch to do something like this in the name of batch-intergity is something even more nonsensical.
Please note that this is my opinion and has been formed based on the assumption that plans are being plotted to exclude the facchas from group events. If these are plain misconceptions, then I guess I went overboard.. :P

PS6: GAG's a pain in the neck. Period. Chelsea got screwed by L'pool! In spite of Gerrard starting on the bench! The Riise goal was awesome! All ye Chelsea fans can bid goodbye to your days of domination in the EPL :D

uhh i did not see the play. 2 dances, the telegu play and 2 songs were all i could stand
we concede that it might not be tot fair on ug1 but then this will hit the administration where it hurts them. also this is only the start of the protest. actions have been taken to show our dissatisfaction with the administration and they will continue slowly escalating the level of protest.

Utter nonsense this. On one day, there is this whole boycott thingy *to send a message to the faculty* and the very next day, you invite them to your carnilval.
Plus, if this whole thing of not allowing ug1 people for sports is true, then that is just the height of immaturity.
what is being done is immature - its like a kid throwing his toys out of his pram cos he doesnt like what his parents told him, and the very next minute, he wants their appreciation.
but i cant really see too many other ways - talking with them is useless, and breaking some bones is a bit much, dont you think? :P

u r also responsible for this matter because u was very serious about ragging while we ppl were not doing ny serious thing , u can handle that matter but u and some ppl just dosen't do any thing and pass the matter to faculty.(ps:U never stay in hostel so i think u don't have ny idea about hostel life.)

there are 2 ways to look at things, sit in your room and comment about how screwed up the world is or to try and do something about it. maybe they wont care a damn, maybe they will...lets atleast give it a shot. quite a few house captains and other reps have thought of resigning their posts in frustration, if this doesnt make a difference God save us..but atleast we tried. atleast i dont sleep thinking that all i did today was comment on a blog, i did something.

Before you get all melodramatic and start drawing conclusions, let me tell you something. WE had a problem with your batch when you guys were in ug1. Some guy of your batch asked one of my batchmates to fuck off when he asked him his name. IMAGINE! :P
And we raised the issue with the faculty. I still rmr Himanshu telling clearly how we never indulge in sexual ragging unlike other NITs to which Prof.J started squirming in her seats. But to cut it short, the faculty acted indifferent and disinterested. They instead started advising us on what we should not do to evoke such violent reactions. Been there.. done that.
I believe the idea of captains resigning their posts is much better although it might also lead to LOTS of other complications. But I still maintain that boycotting freshers was a very childish thing to do. Just my 2 cents.

as far as I feel, there is a lot of crap going on in the campus and this is just one of that.
They want to target the Faculty using UG1 as a medium. I am not sure how that is gonna happen
